Eva D'Luscious

I’m Eva D’Luscious, the ShowGirl Temple High Priestess of Tease. My students nicknamed me the Godmother of Glitter for her helping them reveal their sparkly selves through BodyMagick Burlesque classes and guided dance meditations.

I’ve been bumping and grinding the patriarchy away on Burlesque stages across the US and Canada since 2010, and holding space for other women to strut their stuff since 2012. It’s my absolute joy to hold protected space for you to recover your saucy energy, build confidence through dance and rule your life!

I live in Portland, OR with my husband, dog Boomer Cuckoo Paws and high school drummer, with occasional visits from our college man. Our home is surrounded by a flower garden and overflowing with sparkly costumes and outdoor gear for every season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a dancer to do this?

Nope! Most of my students have little to no dance training, AND it’s time to bust the myth that only certain types of people are dancers. We’re all dancers, it’s just a matter of how much you do it. ShowGirl Temple is a judgment-free zone for you to try a new way of moving and being.

What if my body doesn’t do certain things?

I’m also a certified group fitness instructor and middle-aged Babe with a knee problem, so my instructions include levels and reminders about staying safe in your body, and you’re always welcome to adapt movements to your needs. I give you a framework to build around and a space to try it out, and always welcome you to do what feels good in your body.

How will I make time for this?

You’re going to prioritize yourself – just a little! First, mark off time in your calendar for yourself – these videos are 30min or less. Let the kids watch a show or play a little more video games – you aren’t a bad mom for making you time!

These Videos can be done on their own and I’ve made them short and sweet so you don’t need lots of time. Of course if you want to lock yourself in your room and dance for a few hours I support you!

What if I don’t feel sexy?

This course is made for you! In ShowGirl Temple we say “Practice Makes Sexy.” Anything you want to do is about being with it, you don’t remember learning to walk but it took time. One of my favorite things about Burlesque is the playful energy. Shimmy off some of the societal judgment about “sexy” and do you. You don’t need to come into this an all out sex pot, just flirt with it a little and see what happens.

I’m really self conscious about my body. How do I deal with that?

I hear you! After two pregnancies and nursing two boys, and now hitting menopause the one thing I know about bodies is that they keep shifting and body love is an ongoing journey. I invite you to focus on feeling joy and yumminess in your body rather than worrying about your IG feed.

Feeling sexy, loving yourself and enjoying your body come from the inside. Do what makes you feel good. I promise you, the hottest thing on anyone is confidence, and that comes from honoring and loving yourself.

Plus you can do these videos in your own space, and you’re welcome to dance without your camera on our live Zoom. Another thing I love about Burlesque: you only show what you want to show!
